Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen mixed berries, or blueberries, strawberries, cherries, or raspberries
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 2 to 4 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds, optional for thickening
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
- Small squeeze of lemon juice, optional
Directions
- Add the frozen fruit, mashed banana, and water to a small saucepan.
- Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- Stir occasionally as the fruit breaks down and gets saucy, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Mash slightly with the back of a spoon for a smoother texture, or leave it chunky.
- Stir in chia seeds, cinnamon, vanilla, or lemon juice if using.
- Cook 1 to 2 more minutes, then remove from heat.
