2 cups frozen mixed berries, or blueberries, strawberries, cherries, or raspberries
1 ripe banana, mashed
2 to 4 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon chia seeds, optional for thickening
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
Small squeeze of lemon juice, optional
Directions
Add the frozen fruit, mashed banana, and water to a small saucepan.
Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
Stir occasionally as the fruit breaks down and gets saucy, about 5 to 7 minutes.
Mash slightly with the back of a spoon for a smoother texture, or leave it chunky.
Stir in chia seeds, cinnamon, vanilla, or lemon juice if using.
Cook 1 to 2 more minutes, then remove from heat.
